Spring into September

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all well and strong and getting up to all sorts of wonderful things.

It is the first day of Spring here in Australia. It has been quite a hot day, so what did I end up doing? You'll never guess! I made a Christmas stocking. Ha ha. I can almost feel your disdain. :-)

It happened because I have been looking at these gorgeous ombre sequins on my table for a year. I had intended on using them last year but just could not get into it. It's been a while since I last made one, so it made a nice change. See below. I'm looking forward to starting the next one soon too.

Have you heard of this tea before? Made with Blue Butterfly Pea Flowers. It was a gift from a friend that was visiting Cairns in North Queensland. Apparently it changes colour again when you add citrus.

Legend has it, that it has healing properties, as explained nicely from the website 'The Qi' ~ "Butterfly Pea Flower, or Clitoria ternatea by its scientific name, is a plant most commonly grown in South East Asia. Traditional ancient communities have used this plant for centuries as a tea for its strong antioxidants and health benefits, as well as topically for its beautifying and healing properties. "

There are many more interesting facts about this pretty flower, here:

I've actually been quite busy with continuing on with Lapidary Club, currently focussing on metalsmithing. I am looking forward to designing and creating something special in 14k gold one day. How expensive is gold?! Woo. Did you see my Instagram & Facebook post, proudly showing off my Steel Pan earrings that took me many sessions to almost finish?

Just a bit more finer polishing and then they'll be done! Just to remind you that I use Instagram and Facebook to update on my latest listings and for occasional photos of nice things :-)

They're not as good and effective as they used to be but I still try to engage with you all in the ways that we know best.

I've also been creating more tops, skirts, bags, earrings and it feels great getting things finished and listed. It's funny because I don't necessarily make clothes according to seasons or the weather. I'm into layering clothes anyway, so it doesn't really matter if it's hot or cold - if I want to wear it, I will. Ha. I hope you do too. No rules here.

Two tops and skirts, all available in separate listings.

They look lovely when paired with some plainer clothing, unless you prefer the busy look.

Some of the latest earrings. The pair on the right hand side, are made with tin and crystal butterflies.

A sweet pink cotton checked over-shirt

There are lots of little tops too ~ https://www.debradorgan.com/tops

This is my latest bag, which took forever to make, it felt. It's hard to stop sometimes, when you're in that creative flow.

Here is the skirt that I added yesterday. It is made of recycled denim and striped cotton canvas, along with two handy front pockets.

I sometimes give up on this website server. They have now decided to limit the reach of my email list, so I am unsure now whether these posts are reaching everyone. I realise it is just another way for them to monetise this even more. I am currently unwilling to pay more than I already do, until I understand it better and agree with it. It becomes confusing, unfortunately.

I hope that all of you that get to read this, are being well and happy. There seems to be a shift, (praying it is positive), in the energies around us or maybe that is just me right now.

Next time I must share with you some of my paintings that have had my heart. This is my favourite one. I'm envisaging a dark wood frame for this. I'm not sure whether to offer prints for sale on this one. What are your thoughts? It's approximately 30" wide.

Sending you all pleasant energy and love where it's needed. It would be cool to know who this post reaches and to where in the world, if you have a moment to spare?

Love Debra x
